BlueSky Mobility  Terms and Conditions

1. Rental Requirements

• The minimum age to rent a vehicle is 23 years old.
• Maximum rental age is 75 years old (drivers over 70 may be subject to additional conditions).
• The driver must hold a valid driving licence issued at least 1 year prior to the rental date.
• Licences issued outside the EU and not written in the Latin alphabet must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit (IDP).
• A valid Passport or National ID (EU residents) must be presented at pick-up.
• A valid credit card in the main driver’s name is mandatory for the security deposit.

2. Rental Duration

• Minimum rental period: 24 hours (1 day).
• Maximum rental period per contract: 30 days.
• Rentals exceeding 30 days require contract renewal at a BlueSky Mobility station.
• Pick-up and drop-off times must match. A grace period of 1 hour is allowed. After this period, an additional rental day may be charged.
• Extensions must be requested at least 48 hours before the scheduled return time, subject to availability and updated seasonal rates.

3. Vehicle Booking Policy

• Vehicles are confirmed by category, not by specific model, brand, colour, or fuel type.
• BlueSky Mobility reserves the right to provide a similar or upgraded vehicle if necessary.

4. No-Show Policy

• Failure to collect the vehicle within 2 hours of the scheduled pick-up time without prior notice will be considered a no-show, and the booking may be cancelled without refund.
• In case of late arrival, we will do our best to provide a vehicle, but availability cannot be guaranteed.

5. Deposit & Payment

• A refundable security deposit will be blocked on the main driver’s credit card at pick-up.
• Credit card deposit is mandatory. Debit cards and cash are not accepted for deposits.
• Rental charges may be paid by credit card, debit card, or bank transfer (subject to agreement).
• If the deposit authorization is declined by the bank, the booking may be cancelled.
• For rentals longer than 30 days, payment is collected every 30 days.

6. Pick-Up & Drop-Off

• Pick-up and drop-off outside station opening hours are available upon request and may involve additional fees.
• One-way rentals within Portugal are possible upon request and subject to additional charges.
• International cross-border rentals are not permitted without prior written authorization.
• The vehicle condition form must be signed at pick-up and drop-off.

7. Fuel Policy

• Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as at pick-up.
• Missing fuel will be charged at €2.50 per litre + VAT, plus a €25 + VAT refuelling service fee.
• No refund will be given for excess fuel.

8. Additional Fees & Charges

The renter may be charged for:

• Administrative fees for handling traffic fines, toll charges (including Portuguese electronic tolls), or parking penalties.
• Excessive cleaning (interior or exterior) between €15 and €150 depending on condition.
• Damage not covered by insurance (interior, undercarriage, keys, etc.).
• Lost or stolen vehicle keys or documents.
• Late return, contract extension, additional driver, out-of-hours service, or excess kilometres.

No refund is granted for unused rental days in case of early return.

9. Insurance Coverage

Third-Party Liability (TPL)

Included in the rental price, in accordance with Portuguese law. Covers damage or injury caused to third parties.

CDW – Collision Damage Waiver

Limits the renter’s financial liability to the excess amount stated in the rental agreement.
Does not cover:

• Interior damage
• Tyres, rims, glass, mirrors, lights
• Undercarriage damage
• Lost/broken keys
• Fuel contamination
• Negligence or misuse

A police report and accident report are mandatory for coverage to apply.

TP – Theft Protection

Limits liability in case of theft or attempted theft, subject to the excess amount.
Valid only if:

• Keys and documents are returned
• The vehicle was properly locked
• A police report is provided

SCDW – Super Collision Damage Waiver (Optional)

Reduces the excess amount further.
Does not cover tyres, glass, mirrors, undercarriage, keys, fuel contamination, or negligence.

FDW – Full Damage Waiver (Optional)

Further reduces financial liability. Terms and exclusions apply.

BlueSky Mobility does not provide baggage insurance. Personal belongings remain the renter’s responsibility.

10. In Case of Accident, Theft or Damage

The renter must:

• Immediately inform the Portuguese police (PSP/GNR) and BlueSky Mobility within 24 hours.
• Obtain and submit a police report.
• Complete an accident/damage report at vehicle return.
• Provide a written statement describing the event.

Failure to provide a police report may result in full liability.

11. Restrictions & Unauthorized Use

• Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or narcotics is strictly prohibited.
• Only drivers listed in the rental agreement may drive the vehicle.
• The vehicle may not be used for racing, rallies, off-road driving, or illegal activities.
• The vehicle may not carry more passengers than legally permitted.
• Transport of animals requires prior approval.
• Cross-border travel outside Portugal requires prior written authorization.

Failure to comply with these terms may result in full financial liability for damages or losses.

By signing the rental agreement, the renter confirms acceptance of BlueSky Mobility’s Terms and Conditions in accordance with Portuguese law.
